Sustainable corporate events and meetings catering in Greater Manchester
Open Kitchen is a Manchester-based catering social enterprise. We intercept perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste and work with independent and ethical suppliers.
100% of our profits go back into the community, with a focus on food education in primary schools. Food surplus we don’t use for catering goes to food pantries and community groups supporting families facing food insecurity.
We cater everything from small breakfast meetings to large scale conferences and evening networking events across all areas of Greater Manchester including Manchester City Centre, as well as Warrington and Preston. Order straight off the menu or work with our team to create a package unique to your event.
Food education in primary schools
When you order catering with us, you’re directly funding our Food Education Programme. Our profits go into delivering practical and educational food lessons in primary schools.
We’re aiming to reach 2,340 children through 156 cookery classes in 2026 – teaching essential life skills and improving children’s understanding of healthy eating and where food comes from.
The programme is part of our mission to build a positive food future for Greater Manchester, where food banks are no longer needed, and food waste doesn’t happen.
“Open Kitchen have been invaluable in helping us to deliver everything from intimate meetings up to large scale events.
“We love working with their team and can’t fault their honest, dedicated and supportive approach to working with clients. Their drive and purpose helping local communities and tackling food waste has truly cemented them as Manchester’s Better Business favourites, and rightfully so.”
